It is with a great amount of disappointment that we are announcing the cancellation of the 2020 Simpson Jazz Camp due to the continued COVID-19 pandemic. While this is unfortunate, the safety and health of campers, faculty, and staff is of paramount importance.
Though the on-campus experience won’t be happening, we are currently planning a series of virtual offerings throughout the summer, featuring jazz camp faculty and possible special guests! All current registrants will be updated via email, and we encourage you to follow us here, and on Facebook and Instragram (@jazzatsimpson) to stay up to date.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. And keep practicing!
The schedule for the virtual camp is posted!

The Simpson College Jazz Camp has been in existence since 2003 and is known for its excellence in Iowa jazz education. The Department of Music at Simpson College is proud to host close to 100 school-aged jazz musicians each summer on its beautiful campus!
The Simpson College Jazz Combo camp provides an intensive experience for middle and high school students, ages 12 - 19, looking to gain skills and appreciation in jazz and improvisation. The faculty includes some of the most respected jazz educators in Iowa and beyond! Students will have many opportunities to work on their craft and hear the faculty perform nightly. The week culminates with a final performance by the campers on Friday afternoon, held in Simpson College's beautiful Great Hall.
